5,000 Years of History in 179 Minutes
2:15 pm-5:14 pm
5,000 Years of History in 179 Minutes
That’s right: in something short of three hours participants will take a wild ride through 5,000 years of history. This crash course in Western Civilization follows a single memorable story spanning Ancient Sumer through President Eisenhower. Our bird’seye view of Western history builds a historical framework of 14 eras in the child’s head. Knowing the chronological flow of history is critical for historical literacy and the easy retention of important eras, people, events, and dates. This class will show you how. Presented by Marcia Brim. Cost: $35 for students Age 9+/$15 for parents (Student cost includes a beautiful Western Civilization coloring book. Bring colored pencils or pastels to class, along with a notepad. Doodling is allowed.) To register for any or all of these classes and for more information go to www.brimwoodpress.com/Rowlett.html Don’t delay, space is limited.

An Introduction to Worldview
9:00 am-1:00 pm
An Introduction to Worldview
Bombarded with messages and ideas that run counter to the Gospel, Christian children need to be equipped to be “in the world, but not of it”. Using stories, hands-on activities, and lots of classroom discussion, this
two-day workshop
teaches children how to recognize the religious ideas of four worldview families – Monotheism, Polytheism, Pantheism and Naturalism. Through building the thinking skills of compare and contrast, children build discernment about the ideas that are vying for their hearts and minds and discover for themselves the power of the Christian story.
Cost: $55 for the first child in a family/$30 for the second Ages 10-14. Parents are FREE of charge. (The cost of the first child includes the book and materials for A Young Historian’s Introduction to Worldview)

Parent Worldview and Raising Christian Thinkers Classes
6:00 pm-8:30 pm
Parent Worldview and Raising Christian Thinkers Classes
This two-part class covers Worldview for Parents in the first hour and Raising Christian Thinkers in the second. The first class is geared either for parents whose children took the worldview class but did not attend themselves or for parents who want to teach worldview to their children. The second class explores the gaps in the average Christian Homeschool student’s understanding about the biblical ideas that should shape their view of the world. Through exploring a single passage of scripture, parents are directed to some key resources for equipping children to think like Christians. Cost: $5 for either class, $10 if you come to both.
Q&A will follow and an opportunity to purchase BrimWood Press materials.
